With the economy in a slump, everyone is looking for ways to cut their spending and stretch their dollar a little further. Weddings are expensive and we love to help our brides get the most for their invitation dollar. Here are some simple ways that you can save money on your invitations.
1. Use an RSVP postcard instead of a card and envelope. You will save at least $0.50 per invitation, plus the difference in postage ($0.42 vs. $0.27 each).
2. If the reception is in the same location, you don't need a separate reception card. Just print "Reception immediately following" on the bottom of the invitation and forgo the extra card.
3. If the reception is in a different location and your invitation has room at the bottom, you can even print the reception name and location on the bottom of the invitation.
4. Pockets are very popular right now, but can get pricey with all the insert cards. Instead of using a pocket invitation, select a panel or a folded card invitation and tie the insert cards together with a pretty ribbon to keep them nice and neat.
5. Instead of selecting metallic cardstock for your invitation layers, create your invitation with matte cardstocks. Add a metallic outer envelope instead. Choosing a matte cardstock for the pocket can often be a big savings per invitation.
6. Opt for an oblong invitation instead of square. Square or extremely large invitations require additional postage. Typically, a $0.17 non-machinable surcharge is required to mail these square and large invitations.
We hope these suggestions help you in finding the most cost effective solution for your wedding invitations. As always, we look forward to working with you in the future! Please let us know if you have any questions. We'd be happy to help!
